Seattle merchants hook customers with scannable codes

Arsheed’s customers in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood might be used to texting on their phones, but they weren’t familiar with the black-and-white geometric codes on a sign on the counter aimed at helping businesses connect with their mobile clientele.
